At Zarely, we believe that talent knows no bounds. Gifted dancers are chasing perfection in every corner of the globe, training in large, spacious company studios and in neighbors’ dusty basements.
We want to increase interest in ballet by connecting the World’s most talented dancers with the exposure and opportunities they deserve, so this October, we’ll be holding our first annual Zarely Global Ballet Competition!
The Zarely Global Ballet Competition will be the largest online dance competition in the World.
Using social media as our stage and both the public and our Zarely Role Models as judges, we have the opportunity to captivate over 20 million followers in 100 different countries with the beauty of ballet while providing a springboard for up-and-coming talent.
People from more than 150 countries will be watching you perform
Check out here who has already registered to participate!(it should lead to screen # )
The costs associated with travel, costuming, and registration can prevent dancers from attending competitions and accessing opportunities, but we’ve removed those barriers. At Zarely, it doesn’t matter where you train or where you’re from, only how you dance. That’s why the Zarely Global Ballet Competition is held online and open to any dancer, professional or non-professional, with access to the internet.
Here we should design few inforgaphics to describe the process of participation below:
Starting October 19th, each Thursday, the organizing committee will upload a video of a world-renowned choreographer performing a piece of their making. Competitors will learn and practice the routine, then record themselves performing it. From there, they’ll upload their best take to Instagram with the hashtag #bestballetdancer. Once the video is uploaded, it will appear on the contest website and public voting will begin. 40% of a dancer’s score will come from the public vote and 60% from our Zarely Role Models. On the following Wednesday, the results will be posted and a new piece to learn will be posted on Thursday. After four weeks—five performances—we’ll add together the scores from each week’s challenge: the dancer’s grand total. The dancer with the highest grand total will be the winner.
